Welcome to Church of Art’s weekend of bookmaking & art journaling! While we encourage you to sign up for both Saturday and Sunday’s workshops, you are free to register for one event and not the other.
Part I, Saturday February 28th from noon to 5pm: Bookmaking (5 hours)
If you’ve wanted to learn how to make your own art journal then this is the workshop for you! In this 5-hour workshop, artists Fran Halperin and Erika Halperin will guide the group in making 5″ x 7″ sketchbooks using a variety of mixed papers– including junk mail– for the inside pages. The wide range of thicknesses, textures and sizes of mixed papers make for a charming and fun book which you can then fill with your own drawings, paintings, and collages. You will have your choice of wallpaper samples and book-making fabrics to personalize your journal’s cover to suit your own style. Your handmade journal is yours to keep plus you’ll gain bookmaking skills and the confidence to make more journals on your own!
This is a 5-hour workshop.
**If you are interested in Part II of this series (Art Journaling -3 hours), please register for the Sunday March 1st workshop**
