Are your nerves absolutely frazzled by (*waves hands*) everything going on in the world? You’re not alone and the good news is Church of Art has a few calming creative activities that will draw you into a serene “flow state.” If you’re not familiar with it, “flow state” is complete immersion in an activity to the point where your brain chatter disappears, you lose any sense of time passing, and you feel truly relaxed and joyful. In today’s technology-driven world, knowing how to enter flow state is a gift to yourself that you can return to anytime you’d like.
In this workshop, Erika Halperin will introduce a quiet and engaging mark-making activity known to induce flow state. Then, with tranquil music playing, you will spend 60-70 minutes immersed in focused mark-making while the outside world falls completely away. We will then take a short break before embarking on a second, different flow-inducing art activity for another 60-70 minutes that will once again feel like no time at all.
Your artwork is yours to take home and– more importantly–that frazzled feeling will have melted away!
