All workshops and events are held in our spacious and light-filled studio in the historic Upshur Warehouse building located in NW Portland’s Slabtown neighborhood:

BUILDING ACCESS:

The studio is on the 3rd floor and, yes, there is an elevator.

PARKING:
Signage indicates where/when street parking is permitted and all street parking is free.

If you prefer, you can park in the paid lot behind the building (technically owned by Castaway). The cost is a flat $5 fee and the machine is located inside the lot; be sure to display your parking receipt on your dashboard.

Parking in the lot is not available if Castaway is having an event. When that happens, they put signs at the lot entrance.

FOOD/DRINK:
Coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and water are available during our events along with light snacks. You are welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drink with you. We don’t have a microwave or a hot plate, though we do have an electric kettle (good for instant soup cups).

PUBLIC TRANSIT:
There are 7 Trimet bus stops within 1/2 mile of the studio.

CYCLISTS:
Feel free to bring your bike up the elevator and into the studio with you.
