GIANT Collaborative Neurographics

UPDATE: EVENT TO BE RESCHEDULED FOR LATER DATE
Join us for collaborative neurographics: a mindfulness-based creative activity providing therapeutic mental relaxation through intuitive mark-making on a grand scale.
Neurographic art is a relatively new form of focused, intentional mark-making using curved bold lines, vibrant colors and calming patterns. Physician and neurographics practitioner Ruben Halperin, M.D., will be our guide, co-facilitating this workshop with his wife, artist Erika Halperin.
Group art-making teaches us to let go of perfection and expectation through shared creative exploration while working large encourages greater freedom of expression.
For this mindfulness-based collaborative art activity, we will cover the studio tables with rolls of paper and acrylic paint pens in a variety of sizes and colors. Small groups of 3-6 participants will move around each table filling the paper with sweeping, colorful doodles to the sounds of calming music.
The giant size of our doodling surface allows for whole-arm movements which signal our brains to move out fight-or-flight mode and into a state of mental relaxation and improved focus.
Immerse yourself in this beneficial form of meditative doodling and experience the mood-boosting effect of creativity coupled with community gathering.
