Intro to Drawing (4-part series)

After many requests, it’s finally here: DRAWING CLASSES! In this 4-part introductory series, we’ll cover the fundamentals relevant to both illustration and realistic representation. Artist and Church of Art founder, Erika Halperin, will start each week’s session by guiding the group through a discussion of other artists’ drawings with a particular focus on the topic of that week’s lesson. She will then guide the group through a series of hands-on drawing exercises to begin learning and practicing the concepts covered. Each week will end with time spent drawing during which time Erika will work with each student individually to answer questions and provide guidance. Every participant will receive a drawing kit to keep including a set of Faber-Castell graphite pencils, a Faber-Castell soft eraser and kneadable eraser, a metal pencil sharpener, and a blending stump.

Drawing fundamentals we’ll be covering include:
Values, shapes & form
Perspective, vanishing point & horizon lines
Atmospheric perspective & line quality
Composition & artistic license

By the end of this 4-session series, you will:
