Church of Art is here to de-mystify watercolors for beginners! Whether you’ve tried painting with watercolors and given up or want to try watercolors but don’t know where to start, this workshop will give you the confidence you need.

Artist and Church of Art founder, Erika Halperin, will first teach you everything you need to know about watercolor supplies: which brushes to use, the difference between the many different types of watercolors (Gansai, tube, pan, expensive, cheap, etc.), what paper to use (and which paper to avoid).

She will then guide the group through a hands-on exploration of watercolor techniques, helping you develop the confidence to know how much water to use, how to mix colors, and how to keep from ending up with a muddy mess. We will use a floral still-life to practice our techniques and to create a final piece of artwork that’s yours to keep.

What We’ll Use:
All supplies and materials included. We will use watercolor paints on a variety of papers.
